"When I made these this week I didn't have oranges on hand but I did have lemons. I used the lemon zest and event a squirt or two of lemon juice and they turned out delicious. I'm sure they would be just as good with orange but these cookies are the new rage in my household. I also used twice as much vanilla extract. Yummy!!! When you're mixing the batter before putting it in the fridge it does look like its going to be dry, but after the chill time in the fridge it's just the perfect texture. I sprinkled them with rock sugar and they were really cute and even cut some into different shapes.
