"The first time I made this, I exactly followed the recipe. It was ok but a little bland. This time I added 1 tbsp vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Used a panettone that had pieces of Hershey's chocolate in it. All helped a lot. Also, didn't do the amaretto sauce. I made a simple caramel sauce which went really well.
