Reviewed Parmesan Herbed Orzo
"I first tried out this recipe last summer and have since made it many times thereafter. I did a few things differently. I lightly sauteed the red onion and garlic and then mixed it with the orzo and more olive oil. I also added a lot more parmesan cheese than the orginal recipe. This dish is so tasty and fragrant with the lemon zest and parsley... This recipe taught me the difference that fresh herbs and ingredients are so much more flavorful and appealing to taste and smell than dried herbs! Thanks Sunny!!!!"
Reviewed Fettucine Alfredo
"I have made this recipe probably 10 times since my first attempt since it is a big hit at parties and family gatherings...So easy to make and tasty! This recipe is one of my favorites! "
Reviewed Big Daddy's Spicy Beef Patty
"I tried out this recipe for the first time yesterday with the hopes that it would taste like the meat pies I ate in Ghana. I ommitted the jalapeno pepper and used both premade pie crust and puff pastry. Rookie mistake of leaving the pie crust to defrost for too long which resulted in the beef patties crumbling too easily.. The filling tasted great even without the spiciness and I substituted ground turkey. This is a great recipe! I will definitely make again and watch the defrost time of the pie crust and probably even try to make my own pie crust. The pillsbury premade pie crust tasted great but too sweet for a meat pie. Also, I did not brush curry powder on top of the patties..I mixed this seasoning in the filling and I loved the taste! Next time since i do like the patties a little bigger, I will use a 5 inch cookie cutter or round bowl to cut out the dough so i can put more filling!"
Reviewed Baked Shrimp Scampi
"First time make Ina's recipe and first time making shrimp scampi...My friend loved it and I could not stop test-tasting it before my guests came over! So easy to make! I did make a few substitutions: didn't have shallots so used regular onions instead...Per many readers reviews, I watched the panko, so I ended must sprinkling it on top instead of mixing it with the other ingredients and I only used 1 stick of butter which was enough for me for about 20 big pieces of shrimp. I did make the dish ahead of time and just reheated at lower temp 30 minutes before my guests came over! I am making this dish again for my husband who is a shrimp lover!"
