"True pastry creaqm doesn't use cornstarch for thickening, but this was interesting. Did the recipe exactly as described and found the flavor a bit weak, but acceptable. This is a foolproof way to do easy pastry cream for everyday use but I would do the traditional method (no cornstarch) for special occasion treats."
