My Activity

Reviewed Beef and Black Bean Chili with Toasted Cumin Crema and Avocado Relish

"Made this with ground beef instead of the steak and it turned out awesome. I skipped out on the Crema and Relish, but I did chop up some avocado to eat with it and scooped it with Frito's. Completely awesome!

Reviewed Pumpkin Bread

"It was a bit tedius using fresh pumpkin but the results are so worth it. This is absolutely the best pumpkin bread I have ever eaten.

I hit a few snags with a couple parts of the recipe. I didn't have any pumpkin seeds so I used walnuts which taste great. I also only had 1/2 a cup of vegetable oil left so I added some grapeseed oil to it. Bread turned out delicious. I'd recommend either buttering or spraying the bread pan with some vegetable oil to help it pop out better.

I am currently eating a slice of this delicious bread with a bit of nutella slathered on and I couldn't be happier with yet another awesome Alton Brown recipe!

Reviewed Gnocchi With Wild Mushroom Ragu

"I made this for lunch today and I could not believe how delicious it was for so few calories! I used store bought gnocchi to save time. The mushrooms I could find were shitake and oyster along with the creminis. I was actually surprised to find that the "wild" mushrooms were cheaper than I expected. I think I paid $2 total and another $2 for the creminis.
My husband loved it and was trying to think of all kinds of ways he could eat it with other things so that he'd have an excuse to eat more.

Reviewed Chicken and Dumplings

"This was so yummy and not too difficult.
It does take a bit of time however. I cut a corner by making roasted chicken the previous night for dinner. I saved the thighs and one breast for this recipe and used the bones to make the chicken stock. The flavor was nice and rich, the dumplings have a great chewy texture on the outside and soft texture on the inside. I love the chives for a bit of flavor.
