My Activity

Reviewed Bay Scallop Gratin

"I seriously feel like I'm stabbing Ina in the back writing this because I adore her and most of her recipes. This was way, way, way over the top too strong with the shallots and garlic - and we are lovers of all things garlic/onion so that's really saying something. Also, far too salty. I believe I may try it again, but I would soften the garli"

Reviewed Tiramisu

"Wow. This is an absolutely delicious recipe...no changes needed at all. The only thing different I would do next time would be for presentation purposes ~ put in in a trifle bowl. Initially, I was going to use strong coffee as I do not have an espresso machine. I ground the coffee extra fine and made it strong...but it didn't have that espresso taste at all so for those of you wanting to use espresso and don't have a machine, I would recommend going to Starbucks and asking them for four double shots (8 oz) of espresso. Cost slightly over five bucks.

Reviewed Dragon's Breath Chili

"Delicious! Didn't make the fries, however. Cut the heat down as hubby doesn't like it really spicy - smoked paprika instead of hot, 1 jalapeno instead of two, and half the cayenne. Ground chuck roast with my KitchenAid grinder attachment for course ground beef (no where local to get it like this). Would definitely make again!

Reviewed Real Meatballs and Spaghetti

"This is a keeper and a definite must make again! Relatively simple to put together. My only change was making the meatballs smaller as we like lots of small ones. Very tasty!

01/27/2011 - Just made this again, this time with a few twists that I think made it even better. First, when making the meatballs, I mixed all the ingredient for the meatballs together sans meat. Once mixed, I mixed in the meats very lightly than ran it through my meat grinder as it puts more air into the meat and doesn't make them dense...On the sauce, I used tomatoes I canned this summer. DELICIOUS!

Reviewed Easy Cheese Danish

"Nothing short of phenominal! I think I'm going to use the basics of this and try a chocolate version with some good quality chocolate in the future. YUM

Reviewed Squash Soup

"Yum! Added more cream, some cayenne, and a little savory. Would definitely make again.

"Excellent soup. Changed a few things such as using my own stock recipe and making/using fresh noodles. DELISH!
