This ice cream is delicious! The tanginess of the buttermilk mixed with the sweet is a great combination. I didn't have pecans on hand but added extra vanilla. I will definitely be trying it with pecans next time. Actually, I think this recipe could be a base for any flavorings you want. Almonds and amaretto might be good or maybe just add peaches,...

Very delicious and moist! I did substitute sour cream for half of the butter because the recipe called for a little more butter than I prefer. Next time I might try finely diced apples which would be great with the cinnamon as well. I will definitely keep this recipe!

Couldn't stop eating these! Didn't have all the ingredients so I had to use vanilla extract and fat free milk. I didn't have the consistency problem as some reviewers stated. I followed the recipe exactly and these beans turned out great. I've make beans many times but have never used bay leaves. I think it adds a great flavor. I added salt in the last 20 minutes of cooking. This recipe is a keeper for me!"
