Made two batches of these yesterday. They are a little "clovey" so I would definitely go down to 1tsp of the clove. Also had "dry and sandy" raw dough for the first batch, so I added extra vegetable oil and molasses, 1/3 cup and 1/2 cup, respectively. This made the dough more manageble.
