Reviewed Vidalia Onion Cornbread
"These are tasty. By the way, eljacko thinks that using a mix as an ingredient is not a recipe. There are nine ingredients in this recipe including the mix. You can certainly use a cornbread recipe instead of the mix but, why would you? Have a great day!"
Reviewed Wiener Schnitzel
"This is a very good basic recipe. Pork cutlets or boneless, skinless chicken breasts can be substituted for the veal. Pound the cutlets or breasts thin first. "
Reviewed Five Alarm Chili in the Biscuit Bowl
"I've made the bowls several times. These are tasty. To Elaine Renee 64; you mentioned there was no room for the chili in the bowls and that they came out just like biscuits. Did you try to make the bowls in the inside of the muffin cups? You also mentioned using Pillsbury refrigerated dough in the muffin cups and filling with chili before baking. This particular recipe has you putting the biscuit bowl dough on the outside of the muffin cups, not the inside. Give this recipe another chance. You won't be disappointed. I think this may be tonight's supper.
Reviewed The Lady's Brunch Burger
"This burger is excellent. I did not use the Krispy Kreme donuts since, unfortunately, they are not available here. This makes me sad. I also lighten the recipe by using extra-lean ground beef. FYI, this episode is a "Paula's Home Cooking" episode and the aforementioned episode that hayes_sue referred to that she states Paula borrowed Michael Symon's "Lola Burger" recipe is an episode of "Paula's Best Dishes", which aired AFTER the "Paula's Home Cooking" episodes were made.
Reviewed Not Yo' Mama's Banana Pudding
"This recipe is one of my go-to recipes for family gatherings. Everyone likes it and requests it all the time. I lighten it up by using low-fat and fat-free products such as the sweetened condensed milk and cream cheese. I've used fat-free Cool Whip as well. Nobody knows. Thank you Paula!!!
Reviewed Low Country Cookies
"These are wonderful cookies. You do need to have a sweet tooth to really appreciate these cookies. I grew up in Minnesota as did my mother. This recipe has been bouncing around the family forever. I remember helping my mother make these when I was 10. You can change this recipe by using whole Club Crackers instead of the whole graham crackers. Be sure to use graham cracker crumbs in the filling.
Reviewed Orange Coffee Cake
"This recipe is awesome! I have made it several times and will continue to make it. To the previous reviewer that had the glaze come out like water and had the coffeecake come out raw in the middle and too brown on the outside; you used too much orange juice in the glaze and your oven was too hot. Get an oven thermometer and check your oven temperature. The oven may need to be calibrated. I've never had the glaze come out too runny. I've used fat-free cream cheese and I have used low-fat cream cheese without having the glaze come out too runny. Be sure to combine the cream cheese and powdered sugar thoroughly before adding the orange juice, then only add a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached. Don't try to add the powdered sugar to the liquid and try to add enough powdered sugar to thicken the glaze. I hope these suggestions are helpful. Thank you Paula for this and all your recipes.
Reviewed Meemaw's Kitchen Sink Christmas Cookies
"This recipe is very similar to a chocolate chip cookie recipe I make all the time. Very tasty! Also, to momma4ajg, the recipe calls for 1/2 pound butter, not 1/2 cup butter. That would be two sticks. Easy mistake. Happy baking!
