"I make a similar lime rice but the secret I have found is to use a little lime salt. You can get it at most me..."

About Me

I am a single mom of 4 who absolutely loves to cook! I have two of my babies off to college and two to go. My kids have never eaten hamburger helper no matter how poor we were (and we were poor!).When we werent so poor I gave them shark steak and artichokes, sushi and edamame, calimari and filet mignon rare. They always shock waiters and waitresses when they order a steak rare. I have encouraged them to try things that most kids wouldnt think about touching and enjoy the reaction when they fall in love with something they first said Uuugh to.
My youngest is my sushi partner. She loves Japanese cuisine as well as Thai. She is developing quite a palate and is become quite a good cook.
Im not a food snob (except when it comes to hamburger helper) I do love gourmet food but I am also a french fry freak!
I love to cook and have been cooking since I was 4. I used to bake to relieve stress and then pass the results out to neighbors. I think they started getting me angry on purpose so they could have homemade cream puffs! Eventually neighbors and friends started paying me to make them quiche and my homemade creampuffs with homemade chocolate mousse. I have always wanted a restaurant of my own but it is an expensive and scary dream. My favorite thing to do is to take comfort foods and either give them a healthy makeover or gourmet them up! I guess I just like to have fun with food. It is still how I relieve stress and it is pure joy to create art in my kitchen!

Favorite Foods

So many! I really love classic comfort foods. Not only american, but many other countries and cultural favorites. So far there are only three things that I just cannot eat. Hamburger helper lima beans and tripe! LOL
