My Activity

Reviewed Penne with Shrimp and Herbed Cream Sauce

"This was a decent base recipe. We found it a bit bland and will need to "doctor" it up next time. Only got 3 stars because it needs work. I think next time we'll add some lemon juice, more garlic, shallots, asiago cheese, and then we'll go from there..."

Reviewed Hash Brown Quiche

"I've made this 2x. It gets 3 stars because Paula's cook times are way off and the green onions were a poor choice (mushy, yuck!). I recommend cutting the butter used to mix with the hasbrowns in half. By using the full amount you are looking at a cook time of about an hour to get the crust to brown (not 20-25 minutes like Paula says!)The second time I made this, with half the butter, it took about 35 minutes for the crust to brown. I used sausage instead of ham. The 2nd time I made this I chose white onion instead of the green onion. I sauteed it in the sausage grease before adding it to the filling mixture. It turned out great! I also microshaved a little parmesan over the top before cooking.
