The bacon wasn't that bad, but certainly not worth the mess. My waffle iron may just be old (12 years) but I found it very awkward to drain the fat after every batch (if I didn't, the fat would just ooze out onto the counter). I used 'Plantation Blackstrap unsulphered Molasses'. The result was a VERY dark, very good brown sugar with a nice molasses odor. I worry that it may overpower some recipes, so I'll need to be careful I think before adding it.

This was very good. I added a little extra salt to the water (based on previous reviews). The dressing came off the heat while the cabbage was still cooking.
