Reviewed French Onion Dip

Feb 2, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I think there might be a mistake in the recipe where it says to caramelize the onions over med-high heat. I'm pretty sure it should be med-low. Anyway, that's what I did. I really liked this recipe, but it was a little too sweet for my personal tastes. I'll try regular yellow onions next time in lieu of the Vidalias. Thanks, Chef Fieri."

You can't go wrong with roasting vegetables. Once pureed, I added some parsley, low-fat sour cream, a little cumin, and some Frank's Hot Sauce for some heat. I also just threw the garlic cloves in their skin when roasting the other vegetables and peeled them for the puree. The recipe is excellent as is, but I wanted it to be more of a dip. You "

Can I say I've made this 4 times in the last 2 weeks?! Great combination of flavors. My only changes were that I didn't add the remaining ginger and garlic until I cooked the chicken. It burnt with the broccoli. I also added a handful of chopped cilantro at the end 'cause, well, I always use cilantro with Asian flavors. Thanks Food Network Ki"

Reviewed Chorizo and Shrimp Quesadillas with Smoky Guacamole

Feb 4, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Admittedly, I am not a fan of Rachael Ray, nor have I had any luck with the few recipes of hers that I've tried. These were delicious and so much easier than my prior attempts at quesadillas in the oven. I added a clove of garlic to the guacamole because, well, in our house, garlic belongs in almost everything. I also cooked the quesadillas in...

Wow! I can't believe only one other person tried/rated this recipe. I made these like 2 days after I saw it in FN Magazine and I'm back to make them a 2nd time. We literally fought over these! My personal preference is to never fry anything in oil, so I'm going to try putting them on a rack inside a sheet pan in the oven. I think if you spra...

Reviewed Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage

Jul 31, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Loved this, Brian, and you, too! This was the first time I used Chinese sausage and, although it's certainly different than our sausage, we enjoyed the unique flavor. I pretty much followed your recipe except I used brown rice and threw in some other veggies like zucchini & peas. It's a great way to clean out your crispers!
Thank you...

This is a unique and tasty combination of flavors. I really enjoyed them. Made mine into oval patties and ate them without a bun. As others suggested, I added a clove of minced garlic to the chicken mixture. I can't get over how simple and delicious the sauce is. Thanks Food Network for another keeper recipe."
