My Activity
Reviewed Holiday Biscotti
"I've made these a couple times and been impressed with them. I never have enough time to do the chocolate dipping part but they are still good and were a hit as holiday treats.
Reviewed Chocolate Hazelnut Biscotti
"I agree with the other reviewers who noted these are not actually biscotti, since these are not twice baked. That said, I did like using Nutella in these cookies, and I did bake them twice like I would with other biscotti. This dough is probably not dry enough so my biscotti turned out a bit softer than usual, but they're still tasty. I also added some orange zest as a complement to the chocolate, which added a nice alternate flavor.
Reviewed Sweet Basil Cheesecake
"I couldn't find basil at the store (it's very out of season in New England at this time of year!) so I substituted thyme instead. I also didn't have a 4.5 inch springform pan so I used two smaller ramekins instead. I cooked them a bit too long, but they still tasted good - definitely a nice fancier take on cheese & crackers. I'll make this recipe again!
Reviewed Baked Panzanella Caprese
"This recipe turned out ok, but I wasn't that impressed. I like the idea of baking the tomatoes to enhance their sweetness, and the baked mozzarella had a nice texture, but the whole thing was upside-down! It was so difficult to eat with the crunchy bread on top. Next time I will reverse the order of the ingredients that I put into the pan and I bet it'll work much better. I also agree with the other reviewers - this didn't taste as good the next day, so I'll make the full recipe for a crowd or make half if it's just for my family.
