Reviewed Ginger Snaps
"LOVE LOVE LOVE that you weigh vs. measuring. It's so much more accurate. As everyone else said, crispy outside, chewy inside. Nice spicy flavor. Was afraid from the smell of the dough that I was making home-made Gingeroo's (from Trader Joe's). These are so much more than those could hope to be.""
Reviewed Chicken Cacciatore
"Really delicious. I used the recipe but made some minor modifications: only used thighs as that's the part my family likes best; also, lightly dredged thighs in flour before browning (it seemed like a good idea); and omitted the peppers (not a big fan of them around here). Also only used one can of tomatoes--it was saucy enough. Served over po""
Reviewed Ham and Mortadella Sandwich with Provolone and Pickled Hot Pepper Relish
"My biggest problem with this recipe is stopping my husband from eating all the pickled hot pepper relish before I can finish making sandwiches. Used my George Foreman grill as a panini press. Excellent results. Really delicious!""
Reviewed Gulf Shrimp Jambalaya
"It makes me very sad to give this recipe such a low rating.
I have to say, the flavors were just "not there" for me. I think I may try again and jazz up the shrimp stock. Also hubby wanted more sausage and less shrimp--an easy fix.
I will say the shrimp were perfectly cooked and everything had a good texture. Flavor was just a little one dim"
Reviewed Chicken in Creamy Tomato Curry: Chicken Tikka Masala
"Delicious and will definately go in the regular dinner rotation. Simple to do. Could stand it a bit spicier (i.e., hotter). I used jalapenos since my market was out of serranos. Will use more jalapeno next time, if serranos are not available.
Thank you Aarti for making Indian cusine so accessible to the home cook!"
Reviewed Cauliflower and Potatoes: "Aloo Gobi"
"I totally rooted for Aarti throughout the entire NFNS competition. I love that there is finally someone on tv making Indian food accessible. Aarti's warm personality and charm are a delight to watch.
I had high hopes for this recipe, especially after reading all the reviews. A common thread was, "my family doesn't even like cauliflower but loved this recipe." Well, everyone in my family loves cauliflower except me so I rarely make it. With all the positive comments I was hopeful I finally found a preparation I would enjoy. Alas, no.
Having said that, my husband and daughter, who do like it, enjoyed the dish. Daughter even took some leftovers to school for lunch the next day.
Made this along with the chicken tikka masala (delish and will do again) and the basmati rice--which came out picture perfect.
