Favorited Pulled Chicken Ragu and Rigatoni
"Meh. These were all right. I had really high expectations for these because I love apple and cinnamon. I shredded up two and a half large grannies in the batter, plus added a touch of cinnamon & nutmeg and still thought they were kind of bland by themselves. Maybe I'm just too used to super sweet doughnuts. That said, the cinnamon whipped cream is *really* good. I almost could've sat down with just that and a spoon :) I think I would probably just use my left over whipped cream on top of hot chocolate rather than make more of these doughnuts. For anyone wondering about making them ahead of time, I initially made these as a little dessert, but had a ton of batter left over (there were only two of us), and I made some more about 4 hours later and they tasted the same (still bland!)
