Reviewed Sweet Potato Bread Pudding with Pecan Crumble

Jul 25, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this as written (before the most recent postsand all that could be tasted was dry bread. There was no pudding to it, even the crumble was too dry. We even served it with ice cream and it wasn't enough to help! Glad to know I didn't do anything wrong, given the posts below. We ended up pouring more milk over the whole thing and letting i"

Reviewed Brined Herb-Crusted Turkey with Apple Cider Gravy

Dec 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I loved the turkey but did not like the gravy. Ended up making a regular turkey gravy as best I could. The apple cider gravy was just too sweet and the flavor competed with stuffing. My other family members agreed.""

Reviewed Blueberry Coffee Cake Muffins

Jul 31, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I used 2 cups of frozen blueberries (thawed) after consulting online to see how many cups 2 - 1/2 pints would be. The amount of butter and sour cream scared me, so I used plain yogurt in place of the sour cream. The muffins were bland in my opinion, but moist. Maybe a little lemon zest or cinnamon would help. You really do have to fill the cup"

I really liked this recipe and was afraid it may not be as good as what I usually make. Had some buttermilk I wanted to use up so selected this recipe. My recipe uses beaten egg whites mixed into the batter which makes a very light waffle - so I figured this recipe would produce a heavy waffle, but it wasn't! Nice texture could not get it very "

Ummmm where's the Cool Bean Salad? The grilling recipe isn't anything other than oil, salt and pepper and how to turn the fish. Not sure how this got posted."

Reviewed Chicken Satay with Spicy Peanut Sauce and Cucumber Relish

Jun 5, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made this the first time for a dinner party and received many compliments. The chicken was nice and tender - marinated for 4 hours. Peanut sauce was a big hit - and as others have said there was plenty - I probably had 80% left. The cucumber relish sauce was a bit salty for my taste and needed a bit more sugar, so I remade it and used white...

Just okay. Had a weird texture that I didn't care for - more mousse-like. Flavor was lacking."

I didn't think I'd ever find the perfect CC cookie recipe and THIS IS IT! I followed the receipe as directed except I've been trying to get away from refined sugar so I used 3/4 c. organic dark brown sugar and 3/4 c. C+H golden brown sugar (too chicken to use all dark brown sugar). Chilled the dough for about 30 min.(wasn't sure how long. I used...

Reviewed Thai-Style Halibut with Coconut-Curry Broth

Apr 3, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I will make this again and again. I used Tilapia and it was great. Followed others suggestions to thicken sauce by adding more coconut milk and flour ( I used 1/2 c. milk and 1 Tbsp flour mixed together). I also added a tsp of sugar as someone suggested which helped. The sauce ended up with a very light lemony flavor and there was plenty - maybe...

Reviewed Turkey Meatballs with Quick And Spicy Tomato Sauce and Whole-Wheat Spaghetti

Mar 26, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very tasty and moist! I'll make this again :) I only made the meatballs due to time contraints, and used a 32 oz jar of Muir Glen Organic Garlic Roasted Garlic pasta sauce I got at Whole Foods. It made about 16 generous meatballs which turned out perfectly. I used ground turkey thigh, since I was afraid turkey breast would be dry, as some mentioned....

Good but very bland. Found myself adding garlic salt, but it needed some zip. Maybe hot chilis cooked along with the onions and peppers?? Anyone have a suggestion? A well written recipe and very executable. Would cook the onions and peppers less, so they aren't so soft. I substituted edamame for the peas and really liked it. Bought pre-cooked, peeled...

Reviewed Champagne, Darling? Freezes

Jan 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Yummmmmm!!! What a great alternative to the usual champagne at midnight. This was velvety yet light and flavorful, with just a hint of alcohol noticed. Perfect! It did take quite a bit of blending so allow ample time - 15/20 min. For those who didn't want alcohol at midnight, I just blended the sorbet with Sprite. Will definitely serve this again...

I REALLY liked this! I used lime juice instead of lemon juice (like one of the reviewers suggested) and I let it marinade over night. I could not find skirt steak, so the butcher recommended sirloin. I was preparing this for a party, so we cooked the meat, sliced it, and put it in a foil packet in a pan and placed it in a 170 degree oven until...
