My Activity

Reviewed Crab Cake Mac N Cheese

"The family loved it! I modified a bit. Here's what I did: used 3/4 lb. cavatappi. Sauteed onions, garlic and multi-colored peppers in a bit of olive oil. Added 1/2 lb. crab and the seasonings (forgot to add lemon zest). Made the sauce with 1 tbsp. butter and skim milk. Let it cook a bit to thicken. Used 1/2 lb. mix of cheddar, longhorn and""

Reviewed Pumpkin-Maple Bread Pudding

"I made this for Thanksgving, and everyone LOVED it! As suggested by another reviewer, I made my own hard sauce by combining a stick of softened butter, 1 1/2c powdered sugar and 2 tbsp. brandy (I used cognac as it's what I had on hand) and beat until fluffy - make sure to take the time to do this - it's completely worth it. I didn't have any map""

Reviewed Hot Dates

"My family loved these! I served these as appetizers on Thanksgiving eve, and they were the hit of the evening. I made one batch with Gorgonzola and another with Asiago, and both were great. I used the largest dates I could find (they had to be pitted, but it was very easy to do and well worth the extra effort). I baked according to the directi""

Reviewed Apple and Onion Stuffin' Muffins

"My husband's family said that it was the best stuffing they've ever had! I didn't make the muffins but put in a casserole dish. I doubled the amount of celery and onions and added diced carrots. I also added a pound of crumbled sausage, 1 handful of chopped walnuts and craisins. I added a lot of broth (homemade from the turkey giblets) to make""

Reviewed Osso Buco

"This was great and so easy! I didn't have turnips, so I used some purple potatoes. I also started this a bit late in the day, so I put the slow cooker on high for one hour and then on low for another 3-4 hours. My husband cannot wait until I make it again.""

Reviewed Whole-Wheat Spaghetti with Lemon, Basil, and Salmon

"This was delicious! I had some wild salmon that I wanted to make, but didn't want to overpower it with a lot of seasonings or marinades. This was a perfect accompaniment to the salmon. The pasta was delicious and light. I did make one change - I didn't have spinach, so I just used some fancy greens I had for salads. It substituted wonderfully. It made a perfect, romantic weekend lunch for my husband and me."

Reviewed Peanut Butter Pie - Semi-Homemaker Recipe

"This is delicious! My 7 year old saw this episode and couldn't wait to make this. We used 1/3 less fat cream cheese and lite whipped topping. Instead of putting the ice cream topping on top, we made some chocolate shavings and sprinkled them on top. This may be my "go to" recipe for summer picnics this year."

Reviewed Chicken Cherry Baguette Burgers - Semi-Homemaker Recipe

"This is the best burger I've ever made! I used ground turkey (93/7) instead of the chicken, and used store-bought artisan bread, otherwise followed the directions. Make sure to find the sweet cherry peppers; they're a bit pricey, but add a ton of flavor. Also, make sure to add the rosemary - it was a key reason why this is so delicious. "
