Reviewed Butternut Squash Soup
"I used 2 (1 lb.) frozen butternut squash packages, which were already cubed. I put everything (onions and squash into the blender after about 20 mins. and even added a bit of fresh (dried would work too thyme and a scotch bonnet pepper with 4 slits into it, to add a bit of heat. I used 6 cups of water and 2 Tbsps of vegetable broth powder, and i"

"Since I didn't have all the ingredients, I made a lot of substitutions. I used a silicone bundt form; I didn't have walnuts,so I used pecans; also used 2 cups all-purpose flour and 1 cup wheat pastry flour. When it came out of the oven after only 75 minutes (suggested by a few posts), it was pretty moist, so I decided to firm it up a bit and cooke""

"Church Dinner Was a Hit!! We used canned, sliced peaches, and should have omitted the 1/2 c water, but it still tasted awesome! We drained the canned peaches, stirred the dry ingredients separately, then added milk. We doubled up on the measurements since we used 2 large cans of peaches, and had to add a second mixture of the cobbler dough to d"
"Just finished making this! Instead of the 12 oz can of buttermilk biscuits, I used a 17.5 Grands Flaky Supreme Cinnabon can and a 16.3 oz Grands Flaky Honey Butter, to divide among 2 foil brownie pans. I melted a whole stick of butter, but ended up using only about half of it. I quartered the 2 tins, alternating a Cinnabon piece (did not dip in"

We drained the canned peaches, stirred the dry ingredients separately, then added milk. We doubled up on the measurements since we used 2 large cans of peaches, and had to add a second mixture of the cobbler dough to dollop on top. It still turned out amazing, especially to the newbie chefs (13-14 yr olds) who were making it!!!
We also used a flour, baking powder combination since we didn't have self-rising flour.
So my suggestion if you use canned peaches, is to stick to the original measurements and skip the water and cooking (since they're already soft). Everyone loved it, especially the folks coming in for the community dinner.
Reviewed "Instant" Pancake Mix
"The hardest part was finding a container large enough to hold the 6 cups of flour/dry mix ingredients. My daughter helped make these and they came out fluffy. She used half/half wheat/white flour. I made a buttermilk substitute (1T vinegar to 1 C milk) and it was fine. Just keep the yolk/butter and whites/milk separate. 1st add the dry mix to the butter, then pour on the milk. The kids added chocolate chips as we cooked then, and I sliced up bananas and chopped walnuts to mine. Yumma!
