Reviewed easy cranberry and apple cake

Aug 20, 2014 on

I'm sure this will be delicious as are all of Ina's recipes. I'm posting this to also complain about the updates to this website. I hate them! Very slow to access my recipe box or find a new recipe---if I do save one, I save it on Pinterest now. I emailed Food Network to let them know how I felt, but no response- interesting to see many others feel...

Reviewed swiss chard and ricotta crostata

Jul 19, 2014 on

Outstanding! Crust is very easy and delicious. I used light cream cheese instead of mascarpone, because that's what I had on hand. Fresh chard from my garden. Will make this again and again--maybe add some bacon or sausage as others have suggested to make it a meal in itself. Thanks Anne!

Reviewed Chicken and Dumplings

Oct 31, 2013 on

I have always disliked dumplings-to me they were doughy, slimy and tasteless---but I tried these, as I have been married 40 years and never made chicken and dumplings for my hubby. Well- the dumplings were great--hubby loved them! I made my own chicken soup, and thickened it up. It's almost like Tyler's anyway. I used fresh chives and parsley from...

Wonderful! I have made this in dry and high Colorado and it turned out perfect as written. Now I am back in Michigan where it is humid and low elevation (humid even on a non-rainy day). I just needed to adjust my baking times and turn up the heat a little--225 worked fine. It's my daughter-in-law's favorite birthday dessert."

Excellent! I'll definitely make this dish again. I made it just as written, except I only had the Mexican type chorizo which worked just fine. At 8 minutes the whites were still a bit runny- probably because my baking dishes were a bit different , but just a couple more minutes did the trick. You absolutely must have some crusty bread with this , "

Reviewed Mushroom Soup with Bacon

Absolutely delicious--the best mushroom soup I have ever eaten. I made it exactly by the recipe---very easy--- and served with crusty bread and some marinated red peppers. Will be making this again and again---Thanks, Anne!"

Reviewed Smoked Sausage, Butternut Squash and Wild Rice Soup

Nov 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

Outstanding! I cut the recipe in half.I used a buttercup squash and just baked it, then scooped out the puree. I also added some andouille type sausage in place of some of the smoked sausage for a little bite. I used a little less half and half than the recipe called for and it turned out great--will definitely make this again.""

Reviewed Roasted Shrimp and Orzo

I'm not a fan of pasta salad either, but this recipe is excellent. I don't like feta, so I cubed up some Havarti with dill instead, and it tasted great-especially since I didn't have quite as much fresh dill as the recipe called for. My husband is allergic to shrimp and crab, so the second time I made it, it tried it with surimi-and that was good "
