Reviewed Brown Rice Salad

Oct 27, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Wow are my eye's watering! The vinegar part of the dressing is very pungent smelling. wooh. I've made this many times over the years and it never fails to be tasty. Baking the brown rice takes planning ahead but is easy and works every time. I actually prefer the flavor and texture of brown rice to white, if only it cooked as fast as white.

Reviewed Mushroom Stroganoff with Goat Cheese

Aug 7, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious. Like most people I used normal wide egg noodles, not super wide and works just fine. I'm a poor grad student and used cream cheese, goat cheese is way too expensive. Tasted fine without it. I also used chicken broth because it's what I had on hand. "

Reviewed Graham Crackers

I managed to find graham flour in the health food section of my Kroger-brand store. In the Bob's Red Mill bags. I've made it with the actual flour and whole wheat flour and there is not much difference if you don't want to track it down. I have substituted all of the honey for the molasses and it tastes similar to the normal graham crackers but mu"

These are delicious! I am not gluten free, but these taste a lot like the real thing, amazing! Tip: to make these egg free if you need using about a tablespoon of flaxseeds mixed with a tablespoon of water makes a decent substitute. "

Pretty good. I had cranberries on hand and not cherries, and they are expensive. I can just feel my stress being relieved. "

Reviewed Orange Glazed Chicken Wings

Alot of work, but some of the best wings I've ever had. Not soggy or greasy at all, just crispy and chickeny. Much better than deep fried. "

Reviewed Slow Cooker Lasagna

Aug 11, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

It wasn't bad, but I miss the ohhy gooey cheesyness of regular lasagna. I pre-cooked the meat and drained the fat. Used diced tomatoes, should have added more, it's a little dry. Also added cheese in between the layers. The noodles are slightly gummy because they were not cooked in water which washed away the access starch. And more tomatoes would"

Reviewed Chocapocalypse Cookie

Apr 11, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These are delicious! I did not use the cocoa nibs, didn't want to hunt for them just to make cookies. They were excellent without them, but would probably be good with them as well. Passed them around to my co-workers and they all loved them. They are definatly very dark and not super sweet, which I liked. Make them tiny, they pack a punch which ...

Reviewed Barley Water

Aug 24, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Quite good. I thought it sounded weird at first, but I braved it. Very much worth it, more refreshing than iced tea, less harsh tasting and smoother. Made a small barley salad with the barley instead of discarding, seemed like a big waste. ""
