really authentic taste. watched a throwdown and added a few things. couldnt find eggplant so substituted with zuchini slices. bumped up the meat content to 1 1/2 lbs., adjusted spices for that. added 6 oz. feta in bechamel, bay leaves in meatsauce. wonderful. served with greek salad (from ina garten) and simple baklava (from giada). i made this sauce x3 for a steak holiday cook out. they were serving bernaise, blue cheese and green peppercorn for the filet mignon and my husband volunteered me for this sauce. it took 3 times as long to cook 3 times more, but well worth the effort, used a cherry brandy. everyone raved. very rich. totally tyler!
