"Wonderful.!!!!! Absolutely perfect Christmas Dinner Dessert. Used Gina's Chocolate pound cake (The Neelys) recipe found here on FN. Can't say enough good things about this. Just sweet enough like a European style dessert. Used the Brandy and sour cherries, man oh man was this tasty!! Perfect blend of flavors. Take your time with the custard. I actually didn't have time to let it set overnight (I started it at 9 am and we served it at 6pm and that included making the cake from scratch. Worth the effort! One dinner guest is not even a chocolate fan usually but loves cherries so she tried it and loved it. This will now be our regular Christmas Dinner Dessert!! Thanks for the incredible recipe.

"PERFECT! The previous ratings saying anything negative about this recipe must have been made wrong. This was absolutely perfect. A huge hit. Used it as the base cake in another FN recipe for Chocolate Cherry Trifle (Nigella Lawson). Combination was absolutely incredible. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. This will now be our regular Christmas dessert.
