Reviewed Swedish Meatballs

Oct 4, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These Swedish meatballs were just fantastic, as are most of Emeril's recipes! This was actually pretty easy to make, though it did take a long time to prepare. I think it was perfect as written; not too much salt or butter at all. I served this with buttered egg noodles and German red cabbage. We will definitely make this again!"

Reviewed Sopapilla

May 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were very good, I will definitely make again. I did cut the salt in half, it seemed like a bit too much, and they turned out fine. Very quick and easy to make. Sprinkled with some cinnamon sugar and drizzled with honey they taste just like from a restaurant."

Reviewed Ultimate Ginger Cookie

Apr 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These cookies are plain evil - I've already eaten half a pan! I made my own batch of crystallized ginger just for this recipe and these cookies are amazing! The dough was a bit crumbly and dry, but I went ahead and baked them the way they were. Baked them for 13 minutes and they came out perfectly chewy on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside....

Reviewed Banana Walnut Bread

Mar 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Deliciously easy bread. I love that there is nothing extra to get in the way of the banana/walnut flavors. Came out perfect and stayed moist for days after baking. "

Reviewed Flatbread: Roti

Mar 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Good accompaniment for curry. I've made this several times and prefer using mostly whole wheat flour and, like the previous reviewer, extra virgin olive oil. The changes give it a better flavor that works well with India dishes. "

Reviewed Instant Chocolate Cake

Mar 18, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Sorry, but this was incredibly disappointing. I did not expect it to be as good as traditional cake, but to me this was inedible. The texture was off, and there was not a lot of good chocolate flavor to redeem it, especially considering how calorie dense this recipe is. Yes, it's cheap and easy, but why make something that's not worth eating anyway?...

Reviewed Easy to Gobble Cobbler

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was good and very easy to make. The fruit went well together with the cinnamon dusted crust. Everyone enjoyed it although I personally prefer Emeril's recipe for Blueberry Peach Cobbler.

Reviewed Pizza Dough

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very easy recipe, makes a great, tasty pizza dough. I don't use a dough hook but mix everything by hand. Works out just fine.

Reviewed Blueberry Dumplings

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Love the idea of blueberry dumplings, but really wasn't that impressed with this. The sauce was pretty good, though the dumplings could have tasted better. I did decrease the water as other reviewers suggested and served with ice cream. The others I served this too felt the same about the dish as I did.

Reviewed Deluxe Chocolate Cake

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This cake was good, but not my favorite chocolate cake. It was very rich and chocolately, but I really prefer a bit of a sweeter chocolate cake. I made this for my chocoholic friend for her birthday and she though it was just good as well, it didn't "wow" her. I was just a little disappointed that I didn't like it better as it took quite a bit of...

Reviewed Max's Specialty Chicken Chop with Sage and Baby Spinach Mashed Potatoes

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is sooo good! I used boneless chicken breasts and, as I do not have a deep-fryer, pan fried them in oil instead turning them to brown. Everything came out perfectly. The mashed potatoes were really good with the spinach and the natural jus was fabulous. Great recipe to serve to others, it looks beautiful plated.

Reviewed Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Good recipe for tasty mashed potatoes. I normally leave the skins on and they're just as good.

Reviewed Garlic Bread

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Pretty tasty garlic bread. I've made this plenty of times and don't measure the ingredients anymore, I just throw in what looks good and go with it. Comes out great every time.

Reviewed Blueberry Peach Cobbler

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The cobbler was fantastic! I used fresh ripe peaches and blueberries we picked ourselves from a local blueberry farm. Next time I may increase the amount of blueberries or try using blackberries instead. I did not make the lime/ginger whipped cream and simply served it with vanilla bean ice cream. Perfect! The biscuit topping had a really good flavor;...

These are so, so good! I really like a spicy gingerbread cookie so I increased the spices as some of the other reviewers suggested and they were perfect!

Reviewed The Chewy

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These are simply the best chocolate chip cookies and the only recipe we make anymore. I have not experienced any flat cookies and I melt the butter completely each time I make these. I do chill the dough before baking and if I'm particularly impatient, I scoop them onto a parchment lined baking pan and refrigerate the pan for about 10 minutes before...

Reviewed Pumpkin Rice Pudding

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This turned out just okay. I really love rice pudding but was ultimately disappointed in this recipe. It wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting although I think the idea of pumpkin rice pudding is great. I may look for another similar recipe that doesn't attempt to be quite as healthy.

Reviewed Chicken Fried Steak

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe was amazing! I'm used to having chicken fried steak with cream gravy but followed the recipe for the brown gravy and was not disappointed. CFS is one of my favorite meals and I'm so glad to have found such a good recipe for it. I served this with candied sweet potatoes and Alton's recipe for creamed corn. Delicious!!

Reviewed Lemon Ricotta Cookies with Lemon Glaze

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These cookies were great. I gave them out during Christmas as part of a cookie package and these were by far the favorite cookie. I followed others' advice and increased the amount of lemon juice and zest in both the dough and the glaze. They came out perfect and lemony with a soft, but not squishy, texture. I also did not find them too sweet, just...

Reviewed Grandma's Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this pie as directed with the exception of the tapioca. I much prefer using tapioca flour in pies so that is what I used. The flavors of the strawberries and rhubarb...

Reviewed Wicked Peach Cobbler

This recipe is great because I love making individual desserts in small ramekins. I was excited when I first made this and forgot to fold the butter into the peach mixture. I don't think the pie suffered at all because of my error. I also like that it has a pie crust topping instead of a biscuit topping which I usually find in cobbler recipes. These...

Reviewed Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
