Nov 13, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on I did a combo of fuji and granny smith. I added cinnamon and allspice to the apples, and also to the crumb topping. I doubled the crumb topping and did half white sugar and half brown sugar. I baked for the time it said, then I dusted it w/more white sugar while it was hot so it would be pretty and crystalize a little as it cooled ;"

YUM!!!! I used Meyer lemons, and i boiled a simple syrup first on the stove, then added my lemon juice and 2 QUARTS WATER (not a gallon). That way people can ice it to their liking :)
It is delicious!!"

not enough flavor. I used powdered buttermilk, instead of straight buttermilk...maybe that made a difference. should double the cumin and maple. cant even taste it. it was very moist though""
