Reviewed braised chicken thighs with button mushrooms

May 13, 2014 on

So flavorful and easy to put together. I added a little Marsala to the chicken stock and used dried rosemary. I also used boneless/skinless chicken thighs since that is what I had on hand and it worked great. I did cut the cooking time down as suggested. I served over egg noodles and spaetzle before, and both were great options!

Reviewed homemade sausage patties

This was a good mix for sausage, but salt liberally and I upped the thyme a little. I didn't use the water method though to cook them. They browned quickly and cooked through on their own just fine.

This was a huge hit at dinner the other night! It puffed up perfectly and was perfectly sweet with the blueberries. This will be making many appearances in our home.

So good and so simple! I used about a half teaspoon of sugar (in total) sprinkled on the cut side of the tomatoes. I will use this again and again.

Reviewed mango salsa

Great start for mango salsa. Loved the addition of cucumber. I also added pineapple for extra sweetness (my mango wasn't perfectly ripe yet) and red peppers. Sitting overnight really helped the flavors combine!

Reviewed vegetable meatloaf with balsamic glaze

May 8, 2014 on

I add a ton more veggies including yellow squash and onions. This creates a larger recipe so I make slightly smaller meatloaves and they freeze wonderfully! Once thawed, I make the glaze and then bake accordingly. I don't cook as long because I do smaller flatter meatloaves. SO good!

Added more veggies than this called for, but overall it is quick, simple and yummy!

Reviewed Butternut Squash Soup with Fontina Cheese Crostini

Dec 3, 2013 on

Not what I was expecting! I usually don't like butternut squash soup, but after trying this for my husband who love the soup, I fell in love! The sage is an awesome idea. Much lighter, healthier version. Will be making it again. I used ground sage and thought it was better than when I used the fresh!

This is such a yummy recipe for brussels sprouts! I don't use all of the sauce because it's a little sweet, but we make this almost weekly :""

Very good! Agree that you need to dissolve the cornstarch before it hits the heat. It gets gloppy if you don't!""

Reviewed Orange-Balsamic Glazed Chicken

Dec 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

So good! I am constantly trying to find new chicken dishes that are worth making again, and this definitely hits the mark. The glaze takes a little longer to reduce than stated in the recipe, but if you buy thicker chicken breasts it doesn't matter at all, they still remain super juicy. This works really well with the Lemon Risotto and asparagus.""

Super tangy, but you just want to keep eating more! It's so creamy! I used Sherry as the wine, and it works out well. I agree that it works great with the Orange Balsamic Chicken.""
