My Activity

Reviewed Ultimate Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte

"I was hesitant to make this recipe considering the mixed reviews. But I went ahead and made it because the recipe looked good.

I followed the directions for the cake/brownie part and it turned out great. I pulled the cake from the oven when my toothpick came out with moist crumbs on it, as opposed to a dry toothpick emerging from the cake. I set the timer on 15 minutes, and checked it every few minutes after that.

I substituted the peanut butter filling for a peanut butter buttercream frosting for filling, and completely ommited the peanut butter glaze, icing the cake with ganache instead; so I can't comment on those aspects.

I assembled the cakes and iced them with ganache while the cake was still slightly warm, then refrigerated it overnight. Please allow the cake to come back to room temperature before serving. This was sweet, rich, and moist; so serve small pieces...with coffee.

I will only comment on the cake part of this recipe. I followed the directions and it turned out great.
