"Beyond disappointing. This cake is red and very moist but thats about all it has going for it. We've dubbed it "water cake" if that gives you any hint of what the flavor is like...it tastes of nothing. Very strange. I actually looked back at the recipe after eating it thinking i may have left out an ingredient or several ingredients it was so tasteless. In all fairness the ingredients and even their quantities are almost identical to every other red velvet recipe on this site - so i imagine they all are equally lacking in flavor. I found one on allrecipes that is worth every calorie: search for red velvet, choose the one submitted by McCormick...yum!!
