I am a retired board of ed employee. I like to cook and have been cooking since I was 9 years old. My mother worked and started by preparing the food for her so we could eat quickly . I also was the first grandchild on my mothers side and was very close to her, I would spend a lot of time helping her in the kitchen since she had to cook for 10 children each day. I have always loved to cook and have been facinated with trying different things. Since I have gotten older I have become more and more interested in lightening up my traditional Italian food (which I favor) and eating less red meat then in the past. I want to expand my food choices to include food like salmon (which I usually do not like the flavor of) so I am always looking for recipes that contain options for fish and vegetables that are healthy and delicious. I like Ellie Kreiger's show but, she has a lot of repeats. I have found other cooks on other networks like Christina Cooks and Delicious T.V. Vegaterian cooking. I would like to see more of these programs on Food Network
