My Activity

Reviewed Hummingbird Cake

"I really love this recipe! It is my go-to cake for a potluck or gathering. It is pretty straight forward and very elegant. I wouldn't change anything about this recipe. Every time I make this cake I get a ton of compliments on how moist it is!! I have made cupcakes and mini cupcakes as well and obviously I had to alter the baking time but they also turned out really great!"

Reviewed Mashed Yellow Turnips with Crispy Shallots

"I brought this to a Thanksgiving gathering and was asked to bring it back to every family function! I actually bring triple the amount of crispy shallots because my family is nuts about them!! I did burn my first batch as well (: it seems there is a very fine line and only a few seconds between crispy and burnt so watch carefully!"

Reviewed Rainbows and Butterflies Pasta Salad

"I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pasta salad!!! I'm not a fan of Mayo and this pasta salad is great! I use rice vinegar and little cubes of gruyere cheese in it as well to add a little tang. Everyone I make it for just loves it. Great recipe!!"

Reviewed Dill Fingerling Potatoes

"This dish is very simple allowing you to taste the flavor of the potatoes. Next time I will probably add a few other things like garlic or onion to add another layer of flavor. Very easy to make, looks elegant when serving!!!"

Reviewed Parker House Rolls

"I tried this recipe for the first time and followed it exactly. The dough took longer than expected to rise and to cook. The rolls looked exactly like the picture however they were very dense and flavorless. My grandpa who makes rolls all the time says he uses 2 tsp of yeast to 3.5 cups of flour. I will make these again with more salt and more yeast - I would probably double both."
