Reviewed Lemon Meringue Pie
"I have used this recipe for my family reunion for the last 4 years. The only changes I make are using the zest of each lemon and doubling the sugar in the meringue. The curd comes out sour enough for a quick puckering punch of tartness, then the marshmallow sweet meringue quickly balances it.
I had issues with it setting a couple times in the pas"
About Me
I was introduced to the kitchen by my mother when my sister and I were about 5 years of age. I started experimenting with turning whatever we had on hand into something tasty. Sometimes to the dissatisfaction of my other brothers and sisters. I worked for 3 1/2 years as a cook at BGSU, and spent 11 years at a local restaurant/ pizza shop cooking and managing.
I had to select this profile picture, because my 3 year old is obsessed with eating strawberries. We have some in a small garden that I have grown at my mom's/twin sister's for the last 3 years. I grow corn, a couple types of tomato, basil, flat-leaf parsley, oregano, a couple types of mint, jalapenos, green and red bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, onions, strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries.
Favorite Foods
Like any american boy that grew up on the Ninja Turtles, I love pizza and have come up with a few really tasty ones while working at Pagliai's Pizza here in town.
I also love mexican, italian, sushi and hibachi grills.
My favorite breakfast is oatmeal with fresh fruits and nuts with over easy eggs and fluffy blueberry buttermilk pancakes. lunch and dinner differs depending on my mood.
I love chocolate, but my favorite dessert of all time is Alton Brown's lemon meringue pie recipe. I have made it for the last few years for my family reunion. The past couple my slice has been eaten by my son. So I know make 2 or 3 to make sure I get some.
