Delicious muffin ... moist, layered flavors ... a definite "make again" recipe for me. I substituted pecans for the hazelnuts. Although my husband and guests loved the muffins as is, I personally am not crazy about the flavor of figs or the crunchiness of the fig seeds, so next time I will try substituting apples for the figs as other reviewers...

Delicious. I used the bone from a spiral ham and it was delicious. I followed the advice of previous reviewers and used the water from the ham bone boil. Also, I did not have fresh thyme, so used 1 tsp dried thyme. This recipe is definitely on my list to "make again" ... wonderful."

One word ... DELICIOUS!!! But to add a few more words ... although this recipe is made in a 9-inch square pan, it makes several hearty servings. I shared three good-sized pieces with neighbors as a treat and they loved the cake. Even with the sharing, my husband and I enjoyed multiple servings of the cake ... spread over a few days, of course! "

Delicious! I followed the recommendation in the review by "scottkim" ... used 15 oz container of whole milk ricotta vs 3 cups and also cut back the butter to 4 TBSP ... but I think you could eliminate the butter altogether. Also, since time did not allow, I used Newman's Marinara sauce. Oh yeah ... I was brave even though it was my first time...
