Reviewed Chicken Noodle Soup
" I forgot the turnip -l'll add it to the stock next time. I used the thyme and bay, but also added a sprig of rosemary. I increased the amount of carrot and celery a bit and used onion & shallot instead of just onion. To serve I added a bit of the parsley and a tiny bit of red pepper flakes...I liked the little bit of spice with the mild soup. I also added a tiny dash of apple cider vinegar to brighten up the flavors (a squeeze of lemon would serve the same purpose).
Nothing wrong w/ store stock--but this soup would absolutely not be the same w/o the homemade stock. If you have to cook the chicken anyway, might as well just make the stock...
love to cook and experiment. love to eat fresh and as local as possible.
