Reviewed cherry tomato salad with buttermilk-basil dressing

May 31, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Did not like at all. All I tasted was buttermilk and that's not really flavorful. I also don't like the flavor of raw garlic. Waste of a lot of pretty little tomatoes.

Mine came out swimming in sauce and there was enough to feed an army. I recommend that you make it with the intention of baking it which should cause some of the sauce to go away.

I made this for a small dinner party with several picky palates so I put the squash, onion, cheese & pecans on the side for everyone to pick and choose. The onion was not as cooked as I like so next time I will caramelize them on the stove. I didn't put the black-eyed peas in it cause no one would eat them. The dressing was fabulous but I put...

I'm on the fence with this recipe. The idea was great and maybe it will be better the next time I try it but this time I wasn't overly pleased. Firstly the 450 degree oven was way too hot. The top with the cheese was cooked to a brown crust but the inside was too moist. Because it was so moist inside I had to bake it longer which compounded the top...

Wow! Used up all the eggs I had in the house to make a recipe that didn't work. Flavor was good but...no lava. Luckily I was experimenting on my family and they never complain. I was disappointed.

I was expecting a lot out of this recipe but was disappointed. I ran out of time so I could only cook the meat for 1 hr 40 min and it was still tough as shoe leather. I really don't think another 20 mins. would have helped it. I also used a lager for the beer and it left an off-putting flavor. The idea was good but it fell short.

Use this recipe instead of the "Turkey Gravy" one further on. The one that uses water instead of broth has no flavor. ""

I spent all afternoon making this and it had no flavor at all. I added salt and pepper and it still ended up flavorless. I had to take this to Thanksgiving dinner so I added one of those little packets of Knorr homestyle chicken stocks to get it to have any taste. BTW julz79 this recipe doesn't have celery it is in the "Roasted" Turkey Gravy list...

This was all right...but I thought there was too much crust and not enough peaches. If I try this again I will double the amount of fruit and only use 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of milk and 3/4 cup of sugar. ""

This recipe has been requested for several meals with family. It is loved by all. What I did to make it less soupy is I used half & half instead of milk. I also added some yellow summer squash to make it more of a squash gratin. I also may have added a little more Gruyere as I am a cheese addict.

I used fresh peaches and I'm afraid they may have been too juicy and they made the custard too soggy. The darn thing just wouldn't set up so the longer I tried to get it to set the more overcooked the crust got. I love so many of Paula's recipes so I had high hopes for this one. It just fell a little short.
