"Made the recipe tonight. Followed it exactly, except substituted half & half for the cream just to save some calories. The shrimp definitely have a little bit of heat. However, I thought the grits were bland and didn't really add anything to the dish. This definitely needed something else, like maybe cheese in the grits or something. If anything, I'd make the shrimp again but probably just serve with rice instead of the grits."

"Wow, this was really really good! I followed the recipe almost exactly. I made sure all of the spices I measured were "heaping" just since some of the reviews had mentioned it being a little bland. I also added 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon, and the flavor was outstanding. Be very careful though, because this cake likes to stick! Cut some parchment paper rounds to put in the bottom of your cake pans, because cooking spray just didn't cut it and one of my layers fell apart. Frost this with a basic cream cheese frosting, and you're gonna wow the crowd!
