Reviewed Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Tasted really good, but I did something wrong with this recipe. I added the butter tablespoon at a time, but the butter began to separate from the egg white during whipping. Then icing began to "weep" but, could still pipe it on to cupcakes. I'm not sure if I rushed adding the butter, or because it was really humid the egg whites were affected."

Made these for Christmas Eve treat (tonight) and I actually followed Linzylu's suggestions, a few reviews before mine. Sauteed garlic and onion in a little butter first and also the minced up stems (I don't like wasting....and I love mushrooms). I was searching for a recipe for puttanesca sauce like I had had many years ago at Market City Caffe in Old Town Pasadena. This recipe is delicious and even better! Great recipe and haven't had a flop yet with his technique. Now I make this recipe a couple times a year! "

I have this cooking on the stove as I type. I've already made two mistakes, (1) thought I had coriander....didn't. :( and (2) added the chocolate before the simmer. Also, my cuisinart food processor had a difficult time with the ancho peppers and they weren't as finely ground as I would have liked.
However, even with my blunders and mishaps...

Reviewed Almond Snowball Cookies

Dec 9, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on

I gave this recipe two stars only because they still tasted good. However, I should have heeded some of the other's comments. The dough was crumbly and dry so I added 1/4 cup butter to soften it enough to shape into balls. I already knew I was in trouble at that point. The cookies ended up looking beautiful, but as others noted; hard as a roc...
