My Activity

Reviewed Salted Caramel Pecan Pie

"Saw the episode this morning and thought it sounded really good... HOWEVER - Too salty... I will try it again but will definitely cut back on the salt. I also had a problem with the pie not setting up. Never had that happen before, have to research it a little."

Reviewed Crab Cakes

"The first time I ever had an incredible Crab Cake was in Louisiana. Ever since then I have searched for what I thought appeared to be a good recipe. I have tried other celeb chef crab cake recipes and have not been impressed until now. I saw chef Robert present this recipe the other night on Rest. Imp. and thought I'd give it a try. In summary I think the rating speaks for itself.

Some of the things that I did different - added 3 finely chopped scallions, doubled up on the Panko because it was so wet and only 1/2 of a lemon juiced. What I would do different next time would be to add some Tony's and back off a little on the Old Bay. I used Tony's in my sauce so it came through there. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with using the Old Bay seasoning. I think Tony's may bring a little more POP to the table, that's all.
Enjoy!!!
