Reviewed String Beans with Shallots
"I made this for Thanksgiving dinner for a large group of people, and it was very well received. I followed the directions almost exactly. I blanched the beans a little longer because I had double the amount of beans, but it still turned out great. Making this a few hours in advance and keeping it in a warming drawer also did not make the beans turn color. Great recipe.
Reviewed Rigatoni with Creamy Mushroom Sauce
"I cooked this for Thanksgiving this year for a huge group of people, and it was a hit. I followed the directions almost exactly, but doubled the recipe because I was cooking for a large group. I cooked the wine and stock down probably a little more than the recipe asked for, and I also didn't remember to conserve any of the pasta water to thin out the sauce. This may have helped the cheesy-mushroom goodness stick better to the pasta in the end. The only negative was that it took longer for me to wash and prep that many mushrooms and shallots than I thought it would, but that was negligible considering the result. Excellent recipe overall.
I love watching Food Network. When there my cable provider had a contract issue with Food Network and I did not have the channel for 1.5 days, I panicked and considered not subscribing to cable anymore. Thank goodness they came to a new agreement very quickly and I was able to watch it again.
