My Activity

Reviewed Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies

"PD's ooey gooey butter cakes are my go to dessert, so I was excited to see these. Though these are tasty, I prefer the butter cakes instead of the cookies. However, these are easy peasy to make and transport. Note: be sure to COAT these babies is powdered sugar. I baked two batches, and the ones with lots of powdered sugar were MUCH better! Also, DO NOT overbake these. If they are left in a minute too long, the bottom burns, and the gooey insides are no more. :(

Reviewed Grandmother Paula's Red Velvet Cake

"DE-LICIOUS! I made this cake for Christmas, and my whole family loved it. However, be very careful with the layers. Even though my layers were completely cooled, they still cracked and slid. I didn't make the most beautiful cake, but it was so good! I omitted the coconut and nuts though. Also, the cake is a BEAUTIFUL red color, not the typical ugly chocolate-colored red color. Note: I put the icing in the fridge for about 10 minutes, and it helped the cake layers not to slide as much.

Reviewed Triple Chocolate Brownies with a Cinnamon Cream Cheese Icing

"Very rich and delicious! I omitted the nuts, and the dish was still fantastic! I also used Paula Deen's Red Velvet Cake cream cheese icing (which is whoa nelly good!) instead of the cinnamon icing recipe. This is the first Emeril recipe I have tried, and I loved it! I'm usually a PD dessert gal, but this dessert was very easy to make and recommended!
