My Activity

Reviewed Homemade Ricotta

"This is fabulous! Not a huge ricotta-from-the-store fan so I was reluctant at first, but curiosity got the better of me. I am thrilled that it did! My husband, a cook in his own right, was awed - and hesitant, but could not be stopped once he tasted it. We used it like butter on the pop-overs, and on flat bread when we ran out of pop-overs. I"

Reviewed Homemade Ricotta

"This is fabulous! Not a huge ricotta-from-the-store fan I was reluctant at first, but curiosity got the better of me. I am thrilled that a use for the whey was provided since it seemed like so much waste at first, but heck - even if I never used the whey it was worth making the ricotta! We used it like butter on the pop-overs, and on flat bread"

Reviewed Popovers

"Very tasty which surprised me. Other pop-overs I have had were bland, but these could stand on their own, but were even better with the sauteed apples and/or the ricotta or both.... I'm thinking of trying a slightly sweet version of these next time. "

Reviewed Sauteed Gala Apples

"These were awesome, and so easy - and quick! I did add 1/2 tsp. of vanilla to the sauce of the apples while they were cooking and liked the aroma it added as well as taste. Loved the combo soft and crunchy. They really were perfect with the pop-overs and ricotta!"

Reviewed Your Own Blended Pork Sausage and Fried Eggs

"We loved this. I forgot to toast the fennel, but I crushed it a bit so the flavor came out anyway. I did reduce the heat a bit, cutting the red pepper and cayanne - but only because of a previous ulcer!! I skipped the eggs, but we had the fresh ricotta, pop-overs, and apples and it was a fabulous brunch. My husband is still talking about it!"

About Me

Love to mix and match ideas from various recipes; love to create my own.  Had recipes I made up published in a book put out when I worked for a Detroit bank back in the early 1970's!      Love photography; love reading - just about anything, including recipe books (have 2-bookcases full of cookbooks!).     Love pets; currently have only one dog and cat (husky and tabby), a small group compared to some years.
