My Activity

Reviewed Alton Brown's Fluffy Whole Wheat Pancakes

"Like georgiapea I used KA white whole wheat, but added a quarter cup of quick oats and a little extra buttermilk. Next time I will use brown sugar and may soak oats with a little buttermilk before adding to batter. Also, I made a blueberry compote with 4 cups frozen blueberries, about 4 tablespoons granulated sugar, and about 2-3 teaspoons lemo..."

Reviewed Almost-Famous Cheesecake Pancakes

"Wow, this is a recipe? How about a bottle of Hershey's syrup mixed into pancakes? Or maybe a bag of caramels. What of ridiculous waste of space. I don't want to offend, how does this get approved and be considered worthy of space here and mailing as Recipe of The Day? Unsubscribe.""

Reviewed Coconut Rice and Peas

"I've have been looking for a good recipe for coconut rice and this one sounds great. Black eyed peas are not my favorite so I will try it with french green lentils."

Reviewed Beatty's Chocolate Cake

"GF made this today for the first time. Both of us had high hopes because we have had outstanding success with Ina's recipes. She went with a 9x13 glass baking dish rather than the round cake pans, and ended up baking for only about 30 mins due to historically shorter baking times in her oven. As we only had Nestle's semisweet chips on hand she used those. We both rate it as 5 stars, she saying "the best cake" ever, and me saying top 2 (hats off to mom's chocolate sheet cake!). Great stuff!

Reviewed Baked Rigatoni with Bechamel Sauce

"I will try this because it looks delicious, but today I was scanning the recipe for ingredients for another dish. I sure wish all of these recipes would list cheese amounts by weight.
