Man this is a great recipe, but I made a few changes to stay away from butter. I added chicken bullion cubes to the grits water to add flavor so I didn't have to use butter. Then I used olive oil, added minced garlic and mushrooms...allowed that to sautee before adding a half cup of white wine and a half cup of heavy cream. Lastly I added capers, "

There is definantly something wrong with this recipe. I added one egg and half stick of butter, and it still feel apart. This needs to be removed and re-done before more people waste their ingrediants trying to prepare it."

I didn't have the extra 45mins to bake the butternut squash and onions. Heck, it took me that long to cut the skin off the However, I sauteed with a little olive oil until soft...adding the onions about 10mins after the squash then sprinkled a little salt and pepper...worked out GREAT!
