Reviewed Shrimp Bisque
"Excellent. I made shrimp scampi the night before, and had shrimp with heads on. So I cut the heads off and added them and the shells to the pasta water to flavor the linguini. The next day I used the stock for this wonderful recipe. I did have to buy a frozen 1lb bag of raw deviened shrimp, b/c I used the shrimp in the scampi. But the quality""
Reviewed Arugula, Apple, and Radish Salad with Cider Vinaigrette
"Perfect compliment to Gwyneth Paltrow's Tuna and Ginger Burger. I had everything on hand but the apple. I used 1/2 of 1 "Honey Crisp" apple, because I was making dinner for two. So the entire recipe was halfed. To suppliment the radishes I added daikon, it's good for the heart, so I love having this in my fridge. Great simple recipe!""
Reviewed Lump Crabmeat Ravioli with Red Pepper Cream Sauce and Asparagus
"The family loved this one! I was looking for a recipe to use some unused crabmeat leftover from another recipe. I had just enough to use in this recipe. I made the raviolis fresh, then froze them to bring out a week later. I made the sauce the night I served. Excellent! Asparagus was too thin and too expensive so we went with an "Olive Garden" ""
Reviewed Lobster Ravioli with Crabmeat Cream Sauce
"The whole family LOVED this! I substituted wild gulf shrimp for the 4 oz Maryland crabmeat, since we are here in Texas. I love the dough recipe. It was so elastic and once I found where to get these flours, I was good to go. We will do this again! I served it with garden salad and homemade Rustic Bread.""
Reviewed Fish Piccata
"My husband and I loved this dish. We both love capers. It had just the right blend of lemon and capers. The dish was not drowning in sauce. We served it over spagetti. Our grocery store had a special on tilpia, buy one packeage get 2 free. So we were swimming in fillets. With this recipe I'm so glad I have tilapia on hand. Quick and so much flavor!"
Reviewed Mini Vanilla Bean Yellow Cupcakes with Creamy Chocolate Frosting
"These were awesome! After a week of icy weather in Dallas sales were down and my son needed to raise the spirits of his employees. I surprised him on Valentine's day and they were so well received by the staff and customers Don't overfill these cupcakes before baking, make them as uniform as possible. You don't want the muffin top. I found that using a cake tester was deceiving, so look for the centers not to be shiny anymore and bounce back when touched, do not over bake! They are perfect! I was in a hurry to get these to his office, so my only do over would be to make the icing earlier, so it has time to set up so it can be piped well. I left some cupcakes at home for my husband and I to have after our Valentine's dinner and the frosting was better to frost with, it did not get hard and crack, it was perfect, and he loved the espresso, don't add more than called for, it's strong enough. If anything you could use less so that there is that "hint" of what is that? going on."
