My Activity

Reviewed Marinated Vegetable Salad

"Wow was this good! It makes a lot and would be perfect for a potluck. I try to keep it in the fridge at all times now since we just eat it by the bowlful. Makes for nice snack without the guilt. Yay! You could also add salami and olives to make a meal."

Reviewed Homemade Granola

"There must be a typo on either the temp or time because I pulled this out at 30" and it was slightly burnt. However, it was still edible. The flavor is good so I'll be playing around with this recipe til I perfect it but at least I have a starting place. I hate to rate one of Ina's recipes so low but if I hadn't had my eye on it all those ingredi"

Reviewed Rocket (Arugula), Pear and Walnut Salad

"Unfortunately, this sounded better than it tasted. Normally I'd try the recipe again just to make sure I hadn't made a mistake but this recipe is simple so I know no error was made. The flavors simply didn't meld for me."

Reviewed Cuban Black Beans

The only thing I would do differently next time is to buy quality beans, not a store brand. Canned beans are so pricey so I'm happy I can now do them from scratch. Thanks Engrossed! :)"

Reviewed Chilled Cucumber Soup with Shrimp

"I really loved the flavor of this soup but it was a little too salty and peppery for me. Once I dial those back this will be a huge hit especially for our hot TX summers! Thanks Ina for another yummy recipe! :) PS. I used Kosher salt."

Reviewed Egg-in-a-Hole

"I've seen this recipe before but for some reason it never sounded good...until I saw Ree do it. It was so simple I thought, "Why not?" I made one for each with a side order of bacon and orange juice. Well, they ate those up so quick I was back in the kitchen making a second batch before drinking half of my coffee, lol. Thanks again PW for another ""

About Me

I'm a 38 year old homeschooling mommy of four beautiful girls. My eldest is married with a cute little boy of her own. I celebrated my 10th wedding anniversary in 2006 with my prince charming. He fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine by taking me on a tour of Italy. My interests are cooking (obviously), traveling, reading, collecting aprons, collecting cookbooks, scrapbooking and photography.

Favorite Foods

I don't have any favorites. I love to try all kinds of ethnic foods; i.e. Moroccan, Indian, Turkish, Greek, etc. YUM-O!
