Reviewed Classic Italian Lasagna

Dec 16, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I thought this was a very good lasagna.I do some things differently.I do half beef and half Italian sausage for my meat and I add a clove or two of pressed garlic. I do the same thing for my spaghetti. I also add more sauce than she say because it tends to be a little dry for my taste. I did make this ahead of time and had put it in the fridge. Since...

Reviewed Almost-Famous Chimichangas

Dec 16, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This review is on the Chi-Chi's Mexi-sauce. This is a great sauce to add to just about any Mexican food dish. I did leave out the cilantro. It is very simple to make and taste great. I put this on my own version of Chimichangas along with some queso and it was a wonderful pairing.

Reviewed Marinara Sauce

Dec 16, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a very good marinara sauce. I find it easier to put the onion, celery, and carrot into a food processor and chop it finely that way. This really help cut down on the prep time.

Reviewed Chicken-and-Cheese Enchiladas

Dec 16, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very good and very tasty. I love the tomatillo sauce for these enchiladas. I added some diced white onion to the chicken and cheese mixture that goes inside the enchiladas. This increases the flavor and helps a great deal. I did leave out the cilantro because while I like it my family can't stand it. I also left out the slice purple onions that go...

Reviewed Gina's Hot and Spicy Tortilla Soup

Dec 16, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I loved this recipe for tortilla soup. I changed it up some. I didn't add the bell pepper or jalapeno to the soup. Instead I bought a can of pinto beans with jalapenos in it and put that in the soup (I think tortilla soup should have beans. I also bought a rotisserie chicken and deboned it for the chicken. I put half of the meat in the soup and froze...

Reviewed Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cakes

Dec 16, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a great holiday dessert. Very simple to make and is a great hit. Several people, including my father, who don't like pumpkin enjoy this recipe. A tip is that after baking the 40-50 it will still wiggle and jiggle quite a bit. This is ok because when it cools it will settle and sink in causing it to become more solid. I have tried her pineapple...
