Reviewed Louisiana Swamp Burger

6 days ago in null on Food.com

We really liked these burgers. As others have mentioned, it seemed like too much meat for only two servings. We made six burgers, to serve three people, and it was just right. I especially liked the sauteed mushrooms and onions on top. Definitely a do-over recipe for us!"

We really liked this! I used a whole red pepper, diced, and left out the onion since it also calls for onion soup mix. I also replaced the cabbage and carrot with a bag of coleslaw veggie mix. This came together really quickly...I barely had enough time to cook a pot of ramen noodles! Next time I make this, I will add baby corn and some broccoli."

We liked this version of tater tot casserole much better than other recipes we';ve tried. The gravy mix gave it more flavor, which we really enjoyed. We will use this again."

New Topic Grenadine in Cooking Q & A

Feb 21, 2014 on Food.com

"I bought a bottle of grenadine to make cherry floats, and now I have almost half a bottle left.

I would like to make cookies or cake, and I wonder if anyone has a recipe I could use. I found two on here that didn't appeal."

This was just okay for us. No real flavor from the maple."

Reviewed Sweet N Spicy Bacon Chicken

Nov 5, 2013 in null on Food.com

We had these for supper tonight. Used four small chicken breasts and a 375g package of bacon. It made more than enough to satisfy the four of us. We all liked the sweet/spicy flavor, but we wanted the bacon to be crispier. Will have to work on that for next time."

Delicious, and very easy. Set the yeast to rising, and by the time I had the shortening cut in, the yeast was ready. It is a very shaggy dough, but with the addition of about 1/3 cup flour while kneading, it became perfectly soft and pliable. The biscuits were soft and tender. My new favorite recipe for biscuits!"

Very easy, and excellent chocolate flavor. I subbed one snack cup of unsweetened applesauce for the oil, and it still came out moist and delicious."

Initially, I thought this was a failure....it looked too liquidy. But it tasted really good, and it does thicken up some as it sits. I put the chicken in the pan and topped with other ingredients as directed, then I used a spoon to push the chicken around a little and let the soup mixture seep into the spaces between. The best parts are the crusty...

Excellent flavor, and so easy! I cooked it in the crockpot instead of the oven. Placed four balls of aluminum foil in the bottom, with the chicken on top. No added liquid. Cooked on Low for about 8 hours. Moist and falling-off-the-bone tender."

Really good, and easy. I didn't measure the milk and sugar for the top, but I think I used less than the recipe stated, and they were still delicious. Not too sweet. I will definitely make these again and again!"

So easy! My husband made these this evening, though he was sceptical....where's the liquid, he asked! But they turned out great, and they smell so good, like gingerbread. Oh, a note for other metric measurement users....the cake mix box that is 518g is just right."

We found it to be good, though rather bland. Next time, I'll season it up more! Also, I will break the spaghetti noodles before cooking...the finished dish was a little difficult to serve with the long strands. Overall, a keeper, with some modifications for our family's tastes."

Good, basic meatloaf. My trick to keeping a crockpot meatloaf from becoming greasy on the bottom is to place two or three slices of bread in the crockpot first, and place the meatloaf on top of them. It makes it easier to lift out, and the bread absorbs the excess grease."
