Reviewed Spicy Pop Pulled Pork

"I made this recipe for my family just as she instructed and it was absolutely delish. I love the simplicity of her meals. I'm a wife, mother and I work but I LOVE to cook. Therefore, it is so nice to look at her and mimic what she does in such an easy and matter of fact type of cooking style. This woman can do no wrong in my eyes. I record eve"

Reviewed Ryder's Turkey Chili

"I fried Polska Kielbasa sausage first and then I cooked ground Turkey in the same pan (cooked separate from the vegetables). I also added Better Than Bouillon Chili base to the recipe above. This is the secret to the best chili ever. I live next to an International Market therefore, I could find the pasilla chile peppers. These are mild, therefo"

Reviewed Baked Lemon Chicken

"My husband gave this recipe 2 thumbs up. I love it when that happens. Here is what I did. I did according to the directions except instead of cutting lemon strips, I used the zest and juice of 2 lemons and added 3 more garlic cloves of course. I also added a tablespoon of Better Than Bouillon to the chicken broth. If you want FLAVOR in any meat dish, it is a must you add this to your broth. Use it and you will see why. I used chicken legs and wings as this is my husband's favorite pieces. This recipe is a keeper. I truly hope you enjoy this dish as did my family. "

Reviewed Braised Cabbage and Carrots

"PERFECT! Trust me, if followed correctly, this is a MASTERPIECE. In a dutch oven, I cooked the bacon just like the recipe stated. I then added some onion and garlic powder, Red Pepper Flakes, Lawry's seasoning and a little salt and pepper to the bacon. Add these seasonings to your liking but I used about a teaspoon of them all. After the bacon cooked, I added chicken stock instead of plain water for flavor of course. I also added 3 small pieces of smoked turkey necks to the pot. I covered it and let it simmer for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Then I added the carrots for the remainder which was an hour more. Don't forget to stir the cabbage. I omitted smash seasoning because I didn't have celery seed or lemon pepper but in my opinion my version is out of this world. The end result was VERY TASTY. The smoked turkey necks is the secret in this recipe. This is my preferred method of cooking cabbage from now on. Enjoy everyone."

Reviewed Baked Spaghetti

"This is absolutely DELICIOUS! This is my preferred way of making spaghetti from now on. It is VERY flavorful and my family loved it. Of course I doubled up on all seasonings as usual except salt. The bay leaves, onions, garlic and italian seasonings give this ALOT of flavor. In addition, ground beef is salty enough. Caution: Do not add too much pasta. Half of the pasta box will do just fine. I also added 1 more cup of tomato sauce and used 3 more cloves of garlic, and used the italian blend-garlic, oregano, basil diced tomatoes. With these tweaks, this was fabulous. Enjoy everyone. "

Reviewed Aunt Peggy's Sweet Potato Souffle

"I just prepared this dish, but I added 2 cinnamon sticks and a teaspoon of whole cloves to the boiling sweet potato water. It gave the sweet potatoes a wonderful flavor and aroma. To me, it is mandatory to put cinnamon sticks and/or ground cinnamon, cloves, butter, vanilla extract and brown sugar to any sweet potato recipe. Later, I added a tablespoon of ground cinnamon to the souffle mixture. My husband and I both agree that this is a really great recipe. It wasn't too sweet to us and not bland by no means but if you don't like really sweet food, then cut down on the sugar. My food MUST have flavor and this is filled with it. I will prepare this recipe again in the future. "

Reviewed Barbeque Meatloaf

"I just prepared this recipe. My husband said it was really good. Instead of fresh bread crumbs, I used quick oats and also added a chopped red pepper. I mixed all the ingredients together first including a McCormick's Meat Loaf Seasoning Mix packet for some flavor and then added the ground beef to the mixture, working everything together. It fit perfectly in my loaf pan and then put that dish inside of a shallow pan for the overflow of juices. I cooked the meat loaf for an hour and a half. The top held up but the bottom fell apart. Oh well. I will still continue to make this recipe in the future as long as my husband likes it. "

Reviewed Lemon-Garlic Shrimp and Grits

"This recipe is DELICIOUS. My husband makes it all the time. But for those who say something is missing, here are 2 of our secrets:
1-Season with salt, pepper AND OLD BAY SEASONING. We feel it is mandatory to add Old Bay Seasoning to ALL seafood dishes. It makes everything pop.
2-ADD SOME CONCENTRATED ZATARAIN'S SHRIMP AND CRAB BOIL to the 2 tablespoons of water, lemon juice, and parsley part. You will definitely get more flavor doing this. Please try it. I honestly believe you will LOVE this recipe with these tweeks. Enjoy."

About Me

I love cooking for my family. I especially love Latin and Indian foods, some Italian also.  I love spices and foods with a lot of sabor. As I get older, I can relate more to my great-grandmother who raised me.  It always made her smile to see her family enjoy the meals she prepared with love.  This is how I feel. I cook with so much love and passion, I truly hope my family can feel it.
