Reviewed Whole-Wheat Spaghetti with Lemon, Basil, and Salmon

Jun 18, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Like the other reviewers, this was very easy, quick and rather refreshing in taste. A good hearty meal for a warm temperature day. After plating the food, I felt like it could use some red for color and so in the future, I may have to add tomatoes as others have suggested. I also used frozen salmon and seasoned the fish with "essence", aka - ba"

Everybody LOVED it, but something about it didn't wow me! I haven't decided whether or not I'll try it again. I doubled the recipe; making two. Ate one immediately and froze the other for a few weeks later. I don't think I liked the no boil lasagna noodles. When cutting servings, it didn't "look" like layered lasagna and more like just a lump"

I was a little leary about adding so many onions, but I think this vegetable is actually what made the meat so moist. Aside from the moisture, nothing to write home about on the meat. In fact, it seems as though I may have needed to add another egg and maybe even a little more of the bread crumbs to keep it from crumbling. Now, the sauce on the "

Reviewed Spinach and Bacon Quiche

Apr 20, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this last night and it was very easy and looked spectacular! I haven't tasted it yet, however! I happened to have some fresh spinach that I needed to use before it spoiled. I actually doubled the ingredients to make two and used a bit of mozzarella that I also had in the refrigerator in need of being used. I didn't have much heavy cream"

Cut the sugar?! Are you serious!! It's the holiday's folks. While I don't suggest eating like this daily, this one ranks as high as the "red" Kool Aid in the refrigerator!!! Gotta have it! It was easy and the hit of our Easter menu. It will certainly show up again on our dinner table!"

Apr 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This has been a family favorite for at least 30 years and it didn't fail for Easter dinner! I couldn't believe Paula makes it the same exact way, except we add minced onions. I'm not a measurer, while cooking, so just throw some in and stop when you think you've added enough! I've also made it with herb flavored croutons that I've crushed and ...

This was a good and healthy salad. I left out the pita and was surprised I didn't have to add any additional dressing.""

Reviewed Roasted Asparagus

Apr 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made a LARGE Easter meal and so was very pleased to find another very good; very easy recipe. The asparagus was perfectly crisped and simply seasoned. My family loved it, as it is not the traditional green vegetable that you find at our dinner table! And I even forgot to add the cheese!""

Apr 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very good. Very easy. I couldn't find the carrots with the stems left on them. Wanted to add parsley for the color/presentation, but I was out. Thought of basil, but didn't want to ruin the anticipated flavor. Instead of putting back on the stove-top after adding the honey, lemon and butter, I put in the oven instead. Maybe this is why I di...

Reviewed Four-Cheese Scalloped Potatoes

Apr 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was very good and very easy. I didn't think it would cover a casserole pan, but it did. I'd never used or heard of these cheeses but they made for extremely delicious flavor. I found the asiago and comte at Trader Joes. Yes, expensive, but worth it for a special Easter dinner!""

Reviewed Baked French Toast Casserole with Maple Syrup

Apr 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was pretty good. It was to be dessert for Easter dinner. Bad choice, its more of a breakfast/brunch type of meal. Easy enough to prepare, although I forgot to add the topping before baking. Instead, I spread it over the top after it came out of the oven. It was still tasty. I also ran out of pecans and so used walnuts instead.""

Reviewed Sweet Peas au Gratin

Feb 27, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Tasty and very easy to make. Lacks a star, as the layers seemed to remain separate and the cheese was too hard for my preference. I also used already seasoned bread crumbs. The next time I try it, I think I'll mix my bread crumbs and cheese all together with the milk and cheese mixture instead of layering. Great twist for peas.""

Reviewed Crispy Baked Rosemary-Garlic Chicken Legs

Feb 27, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

It was just okay. Tried it twice; the first time improvising with ingredients I already had in the house. The other time, I used what was suggested; choosing dried herbs instead of the mortar ground rosemary and garlic. I agree with a few of the other reviewers, the recipe suggests a baking temperature that was too low and it over compensated ...
