I had no bacon and no wine, but it was delicious anyways. A new family favorite. We love Ree :)

Reviewed Easy Chicken Pot Pie

Jan 23, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Best chicken pot pie ever!! Followed the recipe almost to the tee, which is unusual for me, but I'm glad I did. I don't think I could have made any improvements. I didn't have any frozen pie dough so I used puff pastry instead. My family loved it. Will be making this again and again and again....."

Love, Love, LOVE this chili!! So creamy, and tangy and spicy. Only change I made was to add 2 more cans of beans for extra thickness. "

Bland, bland, bland. I had to add a bunch of salt, pepper, cumin and garlic just to make it taste like something. A total disappointment. Deleted it from my recipe box.""

Reviewed Mexican Meatball Soup

Sep 11, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious! Used chicken broth instead of vegetable broth, which I find bitter. Added 2 cloves of minced garlic to the onions when sauteing, and added 1 beaten egg and 1 tsp cumin to the meatballs.""

The amount of lemon was fine for me, but my family didn't care for it. Next time I'll use one lemon and saute garlic with the oil first.""

Reviewed BBQ Pork Sandwich

Aug 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious. Marinated the pork overnight, then cooked it in a crock pot on high for 6 hours. No need for BBQ sauce as the braising liquid is the bomb. One thing though, I forgot the cayenne on the dry rub and was so very glad I did. The amount of black pepper was more than enough spice for this dish.""

Reviewed Andouille and Chicken Kabobs with Creole Mustard Sauce

Jul 22, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Tried this for the first time last night. Whole family enjoyed it, but the sauce was so thin. I kept it simmering to thicken it up, but then the kabobs were getting cold. Think I will reduce the stock to 3/4 or 1/2 cup next time. And there will be a next time."

My family enjoyed this chicken, although I found it a little bland. Next time I will add more spice. I didn't have any cornflakes so I used 1 cup of plain breadcrumbs and 1 cup of cornmeal. Gave it a crispy crust on top, but not so much underneath."

Since peccorino romano is $15.00 a pound at the store, I substituted parmesian and a little goat cheese. The mushrooms came out dry and a little funky in a textural way. I might try them again if I can ever afford the right cheese, but until then I'll keep my shrooms naked."

One star from "mommypennylane"? Really? She must have not prepared it correctly, because this is a big hit with my family. It is soooo easy to make, and the results are awesome. The phyllo is buttery and crispy, the asparagus is tender. A light sprinkling of kosher salt really makes it pop."
