Reviewed English Muffins

"These are awesome! I have lots of experience with yeast and can tell you that anyone can make these. I just bought rings on Ebay for 8 bucks because we don't eat tuna, so finding cans were not an option. I made these in a teflon pan with a lid and since there were no rings, I just did a free form muffin. Very quick and inexpensive. Thinking a"

Reviewed Sauteed Fresh Corn

"Seriously, just when I think I've made one of Ina's best recipes, she wows me again! While this is a *VERY* simple recipe that anyone can make, the flavor of it is totally incredible, I let the corn cook a until we get a little bit of a caramel color in some of the kernels which adds some extra flavor. I am looking forward to making it with som"

Reviewed Coconut Cake

"In reading other reviews, I just have to wonder what equipment that other bakers are using because I would say that if anything, my cake has been really moist. This cake totally rocks! While I am sure that it is not low in calories, if you are going to eat dessert, who cares? I can't imagine using anything but my stand mixer to make this cake. I use one teaspoon of almond extract because the first cake I made was a little too almondy for my taste and instead of the milk, I used buttermilk because I had some that I wanted to use up. Also the poster who said that there was too much icing is right. I am making half this time to see what happens with it. If you follow the directions in the creaming of the butter and the additions of ingredients though, I just can't imagine why the end product would be dry. It's an amazing cake and as always, it just makes me want to visit with Ina and having a cooking afternoon! :"

Reviewed Croque Monsieur

"Ina, as always you totally rock! We had this for breakfast and it was wonderful! I halved the recipe since it was just my hubby and I. I plan to change it up a little the next time I make it and try a nutty Emmentaler and switch the dijon to deli mustard just to make it different. I will only make 1/4 of the sauce as even making only half there was SOOOOOO much on the sandwich. Watch out for this one...you might think you are eating an amped up ham and cheese, but seriously this one is so rich.....nevertheless, it's a keeper!!"

Reviewed Green Apple-Sourdough Pancakes

"These are amazing! We totally loved them! The recipes was easy to follow and they turned out very nicely. I usually make the starter on Saturday evening so we can enjoy a leisurely breakfast on Sunday morning. They smell wonderful cooking and I actually was thinking of trying them out as a waffle just to see how they would go over. YUM! "

Reviewed Omelet for Two

"Another winner! This couldn't have been easier! I saw this on her show yesterday and just couldn't get it off my mind. I like my eggs done and I find when I get an omelet in a restaurant that the eggs are still runny. Never thought of baking the omelet, but it was total perfection! This would make a wonderful quick light dinner with a small salad on the side. It just couldn't have been easier! Ina, you rock!

Reviewed Roasted Turkey Roulade

"What's not to love?! OMGosh! This was FABULOUS!! What a moist, tasty turkey this made, not to mention made a beautiful presentation! Think out of the box. We mixed Angelina wine and Apple liquour together. All this does is rehydrate the fruit. Also, prepare the stuffing the night before. This will make it easier to handle as the stuffing will have a chance to rest and cool. The stuffing was totally amazing. We loved the fact that all the flavors mingling together made just a flavorful dish. I had to find a site on the web that showed me how to debone the turkey breast myself as fresh turkey here in Maryland is pretty expensive, but it wasn't a problem. I will pound the turkey breast slightly next time I prepare it. I also needed four hands to tie the turkey up. I'm a darned experienced cook, but the turkey was awkward to handle after it was stuffed. Easy problem to solve though. Call someone to help you. We loved the taste of it and I look forward to making it again!

About Me

I'm a mother of three fabulous grown children and wife of one wonderful guy, all who love to eat.  I definitely consider myself an amatuer gourmet cook.  I've seriously been giving thought to putting all my stuff on a blog along with videos because I've gotten that good!  :)  I love to make almost everything.  Recipes are simply guides.....you can tweek them to make them your own.

My husband and I love wine, travel and Miatas which is what I do when I'm not working, being a homemaker or cooking.

Ina Garten is one of my favorite chefs.  Even though I even find ways to change recipes that she publishes, I love her passion and philosophies on food.  She is amazing and I would love to meet her someday!

Favorite Foods

I am a fabulous Oriental food and yeast doughs and pizza chef....I'm constantly perfecting those dishes.

I'm a fantastic German cook making many traditional dishes.

My favorite restaurants are owned by little guys who are trying to make a name for themselves.
